In a remarkable display of environmental consciousness, our Highlander Green Warriors came together for an inspiring tree plantation drive under the initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0 at Captain Jagmal Singh Stadium, Bhondsi, Sohna Road, Gurugram.
Amidst the bright sunshine our young Eco-Warriors planted a diverse range of saplings, including Pilkan (Ficus virens), Ber (Ziziphus mauritiana), Guava (Psidium guajava), and Amla (Phyllanthus emblica).

More than just planting saplings, they planted a promise—to nurture, protect, and cherish nature for generations to come.Through this hands-on experience, our Highlanders embraced the spirit of Mission LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment, developing a deeper sense of environmental responsibility and recognising the vital role each individual can play in creating a sustainable future
Together, we are nurturing not just trees, but a legacy of care for Mother Earth.

An insightful session on Adolescent Health, Wellbeing & Sexual Awareness was conducted for our Grade IX–X students by Dr. Pooja Mehta, Gynaecologist, CK Birla Hospital, Gurugram.

The session provided students with a safe and age-appropriate space to understand their changing bodies, menstrual health, consent and boundaries, healthy relationships, peer pressure, dating and social media influences, STIs and prevention, as well as emotional wellbeing and effective communication.

Through open conversations and medically informed guidance, students were encouraged to make informed, responsible and respectful choices while developing greater awareness of their physical and emotional wellbeing.

A meaningful step towards nurturing informed, confident and responsible young individuals.

Water Quality: Grade XII IBDP Students Explore the Science Behind Safe Drinking Water

A meaningful experience of learning science through Inquiry, Collaboration and Real-World Application :

Grade XII IBDP students explored the theme “Water Quality: Science Behind Safe Drinking Water” through their Collaborative Sciences Project (CSP). Working in interdisciplinary teams, students integrated Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and ESS to investigate water quality, evaluate purification methods, explore connections with human health, and design sustainable water purification solutions.

The experience reflected the interdisciplinary nature of the IB Diploma Programme, encouraging inquiry, application of scientific knowledge and evidence-based thinking. Through collaborative investigation, data analysis and communication of findings, students strengthened their ATL skills, particularly research, thinking, communication, self-management and social skills, while developing greater awareness of sustainability and global challenges.

SHIS ATL Students Develop Hands-Free Wheelchair for Greater Independence

Innovation with Purpose | SHIS ATL

Our ATAL students have developed a smart, hands-free wheelchair designed to enable movement through eye-blink and muscle signals, bringing technology closer to creating greater independence for people with physical disabilities.

The wheelchair integrates a BioAmp EXG sensor and an eye-blink sensor to detect and interpret the user’s commands. These signals are processed through specially developed software and translated into movement commands, enabling the wheelchair to respond without conventional physical controls.

What makes this innovation especially significant is that it is a full-sized, functional prototype, developed with improved hardware, motors, and control mechanisms to enhance its performance and usability.

Through this project, our students have brought together Physics, electronics, programming, biomedical sensing, and engineering to address a real-world challenge.

At SHIS ATL, we believe innovation is most meaningful when it is driven by empathy, purpose, and the desire to create a positive impact.

Scottish High Students Triumph at National F1 STEM Racing Competition 2025–26

The school achieved remarkable success at the National F1 STEM Racing Competition 2025–26, with three teams demonstrating exceptional engineering skills, innovation, creativity, teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Their outstanding performances brought immense pride to the school and highlighted the students’ passion for STEM and experiential learning.

Team Axiom Racing, comprising Pranit Jain, Abeer Bajpai Haque, Rishit Ryan Sarna and Ojasvi Singla of Grade XI DP, emerged as the National Champions. The team further distinguished itself by winning the prestigious Best Engineered Car Award and Fastest Car Award. Their excellence was also recognised through nominations in Research & Development, Project Management, Verbal Presentation, and Sponsorship & Marketing. This exceptional performance has earned Team Axiom Racing the opportunity to represent India at the World Championship in Singapore, with the team scheduled to travel on 1 October. Team Nightmare, comprising Tejas Tawde, Aahan Patheja and Safiollokh Avgonov, also delivered an outstanding performance, emerging as Overall Champions and securing the Social Impact Award and Knockout Challenge Winners title. The team will also represent India at the
World Championship in Singapore on 3 October 2026.

Adding another significant achievement, Team Astravayu, comprising Shivaay Singh, Krish Wadhwan, Atharv Sharma, Yug Sachdeva, Vihaan Malhotra and Aaryaveer Singh Kamboj, won the prestigious Sustainability Award, recognising their innovative approach to sustainable STEM practices.

Participation in the competition provided students with valuable hands-on experience in engineering design, testing, research, project management and presentation. These achievements are a testament to their dedication, perseverance and collaborative spirit, while reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing young innovators and future-ready STEM leaders.

Scottish High Students Shine at KVRSS SPARK Innovation Competition

The school participated in the KVRSS SPARK Innovation Competition, held at the University of Hyderabad on 1 August. The competition provided a valuable platform for students to showcase their creativity, innovative thinking, problem-solving abilities and application of knowledge to real- world challenges.

Three students represented the school in different categories and demonstrated commendable confidence, originality and enthusiasm. Their participation reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing innovation and encouraging students to explore interdisciplinary ideas beyond the classroom.

Avni Dwivedi of Grade XII secured First Position in the Jeevanam category and was awarded a prestigious cash prize of ₹10,000. Her achievement reflected her ability to develop and present an innovative idea with clarity and impact. Kartik Chaudhary of Grade VIII secured the Second Runner-Up position in the SMART (Science Meets Arts) category and received a cash prize of ₹1,000. His achievement highlighted the effective integration of scientific thinking with creativity and artistic expression.

Harsimar Dargan of Grade X participated in the Ganitam category, where he developed an innovative game proposing a novel solution for the JEE counselling system. His creative approach earned him a Consolation Certificate and a cash prize of ₹1,000.
Participation in the competition provided the students with meaningful exposure to a competitive innovation ecosystem. They had the opportunity to present their ideas, receive feedback, interact with participants from different institutions and understand the importance of refining ideas to address practical challenges.

The experience helped students strengthen essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, creativity, collaboration, presentation and problem-solving. It also encouraged them to approach challenges from multiple perspectives and develop solutions that combine knowledge with practical application.

The achievements of all three students brought immense pride to the school and reflected their dedication, confidence and innovative spirit. The school congratulates Avni Dwivedi, Kartik Chaudhary and Harsimar Dargan on their remarkable accomplishments and appreciates their efforts in representing the school at the university-level competition.

I hope this email finds you well.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you and your colleagues for welcoming me so warmly during my visit to your school.

It was a wonderful opportunity to observe your classes and learn about your educational programs. I was deeply impressed by the enthusiasm of the students, the dedication of the teachers, and the positive atmosphere throughout the school.

I was also very touched by the special welcome ceremony and the thoughtful gifts that were prepared for me. Your kindness and hospitality made my visit truly memorable, and I greatly appreciate the time and effort that everyone devoted to hosting me.

I have now safely returned to Japan and have shared many of my experiences from your school with my colleagues. The visit provided valuable insights and inspiration for our own educational practices.

As a vice principal of a secondary school in Japan, I hope that this visit may become the beginning of a meaningful relationship between our schools. While our students may have limited opportunities to study abroad, I believe there could be possibilities for cultural exchange, online interactions between students, or professional exchanges among teachers in the future.
