Breast Cancer Awareness Session | Scottish High International School

Breast Cancer Awareness Session | Scottish High International School

Promoting awareness, encouraging conversations, and empowering women to prioritise their
health, Scottish High International School, Gurgaon, organised a meaningful Breast Cancer
Awareness Session for our female housekeeping staff and TPTs. The session was conducted
by Mrs. Sumita Kohli, a breast cancer survivor who has been associated with Yes2Life NGO
for the past ten years.
The session focused on dispelling common myths, understanding risk factors, recognising
early warning signs, and emphasising the importance of regular self-examinations, clinical
check-ups, and timely screenings.
Through her personal journey and experiences, Mrs. Kohli inspired the participants with
powerful messages of resilience, hope, and the importance of early detection. She also
highlighted the significance of emotional support, compassionate caregiving, and creating an
environment where women feel comfortable having open conversations about their health.
The session was a meaningful initiative towards empowering our support staff with
knowledge and encouraging a culture of awareness, care, and preventive healthcare within
the school community.
