Teacher Workshop 2026 | Middle School Faculty | Scottish High

The Scottish High International School successfully conducted a Teacher Workshop for the middle school faculty by Dr. Neha Singh Maurya, aimed at enhancing teachers’ understanding of adolescent behaviour and equipping them with practical strategies to effectively support students in the classroom.

The session began with an interactive icebreaker that encouraged teachers to reflect on common classroom experiences, including managing emotional unpredictability, peer-related challenges, and behavioural concerns. Through guided discussions, teachers explored the developmental factors underlying these behaviours, with a focus on emotional regulation, self-awareness, social development, and impulse control.

Teachers also engaged in activities that highlighted the unique characteristics and needs of students across different middle school grades. The workshop emphasized practical classroom approaches such as maintaining predictable routines, providing clear instructions, offering positive reinforcement, conducting private conversations when necessary, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Overall, the workshop reinforced the important role teachers play in shaping students’ social, emotional, and behavioural growth, while providing valuable insights and strategies to create supportive and effective classroom environments.
