Together for Inclusion: SHIS Stands for Autism Awareness
Scottish High International School proudly commemorated World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, 2026, reaffirming its commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and acceptance for individuals with special needs. Aligned with this year’s theme, “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value,” the day highlighted the importance of dignity, rights, and creating neuroinclusive environments in education and beyond.
The school community—students, teachers, and staff—came together in a meaningful display of empathy and support. The day began with students of Grades XI and XII creating impactful, thought-provoking posters that were displayed across the campus, encouraging conversations and spreading awareness about autism.
Special sensitization sessions were conducted by the Dean of the Integrated Department, Dr. Rajiv Mishra, who shared valuable insights on understanding autism and fostering inclusivity. Classroom discussions further deepened students’ awareness and reinforced the importance of acceptance and respect for all individuals.
In a heartwarming initiative, students of Grades XI and XII spent quality time interacting with students at the Department of Integrated Studies. These moments of connection, joy, and mutual learning truly reflected the spirit of inclusion and compassion. Through these activities, SHIS continues to nurture a culture where every individual is valued, respected, and empowered. Together, we move forward in building a more inclusive and empathetic world.
