
On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Modern Foreign Languages Department conducted an educational visit for the French learners of Grades IX, X IGCSE and XI IBDP, which aimed at broadening their cultural horizons and providing valuable guidance for their future.
The activities included a well-curated guided tour to the library of Alliance Française de Delhi, offering a rich collection of books, periodicals, and multimedia resources.
After the library visit, learners enjoyed the screening of a thought-provoking French movie- ‘Yakari- A
Spectacular Journey, reflecting themes about respect for nature, the power of friendship, and the importance of self-discovery, enhancing learners’ appreciation for world cinema and encouraging discussions on cross-cultural understanding.
An insightful career counselling session was also led by Campus France helping the Highlanders gain knowledge about the emerging career opportunities, the importance of aligning personal interests with career choices, and how to select subjects for their higher studies. The session was complemented by a Q&A, helpful in clarifying their academic and professional aspirations.
Learners also got an opportunity to showcase their French spoken skills by performing role plays and receiving souvenirs in return for their exceptional performances.
This visit not only ignited interest among them in learning a foreign language but also successfully achieved its objectives of enriching their cultural knowledge and equipping them with practical career guidance.
