
On World Environment Day, our Highlander Green Ambassadors’ Team members Atvika Gaur, Aryamaan Sinha, Divvyesh Ramesh, Sharanya Pandey, Simran Gupta, Zena Sharma (XII ISC) and Akarsh Jain, Anurag Pareek, Ewan Fourie, Himanshi Aggarwal, Sanika Chandna (XII DP) have made us proud by Winning the Champions of Harit Umang Trophy 2023 for their contribution in spreading awareness and practicing the holistic approach for the sustainable living.
The Highlanders were felicitated by the Chief Guest Mr. Ved Prakash Mishra, the Director of the Hazardous Substances Management Division, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. He appreciated the efforts of the Highlanders and encouraged them to continue motivating others to inculcate the habit of green practices.
This achievement is remarkable as SHIS has won the Best School Trophy over 400 Green Ambassadors from 65 prestigious schools and colleges from Delhi and NCR participated.
In the individual category, Aryamaan Sinha (XII ISC) received Green Ambassador Recognition Award for the sustainable Disposal of E-waste
Ms. Kavita Yadav has received Special Recognition Award for Contribution Towards Outreach for Environment.
Highlanders participated in various events across several themes including e-Waste management, Plastic Disposal, Clean Energy, and Spreading Awareness about ways to conserve energy by reducing electricity usage, utilizing renewable energy sources, and making energy-efficient choices as they believe that educating ourselves and taking action is crucial in creating a sustainable future for generations.
