
The SHIS Model G20 Conference convened over 150 delegates from 11 schools for a productive two-day event focused on diplomacy, discussion, and global engagement. The conference included nine diverse committees, covering critical topics such as Digital Governance, Global Security, and Financial Architecture and Stability, enabling participants to analyze a broad spectrum of contemporary global challenges.
The first day began with an inspiring Opening Ceremony featuring Chief Guest Ms. Diya Badgel, setting a formal and motivating tone for the event. This was followed by committee sessions where delegates actively engaged in debates, moderated caucuses, and discussions. Key topics like cybersecurity, economic resilience, geopolitical conflicts, and sustainable development were thoroughly examined, as delegates showcased their strong research, communication, and analytical abilities. The sessions were characterized by thoughtful deliberation and collaborative problem-solving, enabling participants to work hard towards consensus while representing their nations authentically.
The second day emphasized drafting working papers and transforming ideas into structured resolutions. Delegates continued their deliberations, actively lobbying and negotiating to garner support for their proposals. This phase underscored essential diplomatic skills such as persuasion, compromise, and teamwork. Notably, although Scottish High International School achieved the highest score for the School Delegation Trophy, it was ultimately awarded to DPS 45 based on the School Principal’s recommendation, exemplifying a commendable spirit of fairness and sportsmanship.
The conference concluded with a Closing Ceremony attended by Chief Guest Ms. Sriparna Pathak, bringing the event to a meaningful conclusion. Overall, the conference not only fostered leadership and critical thinking but also significantly heightened global awareness, equipping participants with invaluable insights into international policymaking and cooperation.
