Scottish High International School celebrated International English Day on the 23rd of April 2019 which is traditionally observed as the birth and death anniversary of William Shakespeare. The celebration aimed to entertain as well as inform, with the goal of increasing awareness and respect for the history and culture of the English Language and the achievements of the innumerable writers, poets and playwrights.
There were many activities, workshops and quizzes throughout the day, designed for various grades, which were educative as well as interesting. Various classroom activities like Pictorial Idioms, Crosswords, Quizzes and Dialogue Writing were conducted by the English Teachers in their respective classes.
Mr Abhik Moitra, father of Yash Moitra of grade IX IG, conducted a story telling session with the students of grade IX. It was a great learning experience as he discussed about communication and the importance of syntax and understanding. It was an immensely eventful day.
