Psychology Masterclass: Understanding Resilience, Adversity & Flourishing
Today, our ISC, IB DP, and IB CP Psychology students attended an insightful masterclass
delivered by Professor Rachna Mishra from Ahmedabad University on the psychological
mechanisms of resilience and flourishing after adversity. Through real-world case study
analysis, students explored how resilience is built through both internal mindsets and external
support systems, along with the application of the socio-ecological model to show why
supportive relationships, safe environments, and meeting basic needs are essential for
individual growth. The session also examined the impact of socio-cultural contexts on coping
mechanisms and concluded with an emphasis on the importance of academic integrity, ethical
attribution, and proper APA 7 citations in psychological research. A huge thank you to
Professor Sinha for an empowering session that bridges academic rigor with real-world impact.
