Dear Seema Mam,

I am the father of Anya W Bhandari who just got promoted to Grade VI F.

I am writing this little late but I had promised myself that I will write to you.

I along with my wife would like to Thank You and the Teachers for all the hard work put in by all of you.

I would like to specifically write about few of the teachers.

Mr SUMIT(ICT): I have mentioned repeatedly in various interactions with Teachers about the transformation in Anya with respect to ICT skills. Neither me nor my wife are from computer backgrounds and since my office work doesn’t involve much software work so I used to manage with whatever little knowledge I gathered over a period of time.

At home,both of us have divided subjects between us to tutor Anya and ICT came on me. Initially it was manageable but with time it started getting a little difficult for me. So I remember 2 yrs back I used to teach Anya but slowly she started doing on her own. And when we saw her presentation in The PYP Exhibition,we were totally stumped.

I don’t have any hesitation in saying this- 2 yrs back I used to help her but now I seek her help in my office work whenever needed and I can see it clearly she has grasped good computer skills. Had it not been for the guidance and perseverance of Mr Sumit,I feel Anya would have definitely lacked in ICT skills.

Ms SITA(Hindi): We just love her smile. I still remember all the Teachers from my school days who always had smile on their faces and she reminds me of them. I am not sure whether you know or not that Anya’s mother tongue is not Hindi. Her lovely mother(my wife) is from Northeast and she couldn’t pickup Hindi that well even after being in North India for a long time.

So believe me,every year we wait with bated breath to see her Hindi Mam and being concerned parents, we always inform Hindi Mam in the beginning of the year itself to take extra care of Anya.Thankfully she had all good Hindi Teachers all these years but Ms Sita takes the cake. She was so good,so gentle,so understanding and so patient with her that we can actually see the changes in Anya. Her Hindi has improved drastically.

Again had it not been for Ms Sita,Anya would have been struggling.

Ms ANITA(HRT): Though she was the HRT but I am writing about her last because I am little confused. On one hand,I am lost for words for her and on the other hand, I feel once I start writing about her, I might not stop.

As I wrote earlier,you guys have trained all the Teachers so well that it shows in our children’s development clearly but Teachers like Ms Anita definitely STAND OUT from the rest. She is not only a Great Teacher, she has been a wonderful person, a Great Mentor, someone who taught good values to the kids, a disciplinarian etc etc. I am telling from the bottom of my heart that sometimes we used to feel that she has done more than even we parents during the last one year.

She showered Anya with selfless love,she acted as a teacher/mentor,she taught discipline so it was like Anya being with one Mother during school time and with another set of parents at home. I seriously wish if we could continue with Ms Anita for just 1 more year but I understand everybody has their roles defined.

If I could tell the parents of the new kids who are going to be under Anita Mam, I would like to tell them that the kids are in the Best,Safest and the most Caring hands.

Thanks again to all the teachers and especially school management for giving the responsibility of our kids to such wonderful human beings.

All these years Anya has had some wonderful teachers since Nursery.

Be it Ms Ruchi, Ms Poonam, Ms Shikha, Ms Nina or Ms Anita, all helped Anya develop into a matured,aware,responsible young adult. And every year was better than the last one.

Looking forward to having another enriching year with Ms Gitanjali and other teachers.
