Scottish High International School celebrated its ‘Annual Day 2024’ on December 18th, 2024, marking a vibrant showcase of the holistic growth of Highlanders across multiple spheres of life. The event exuded enthusiasm and energy, with active participation from students, academic staff, and support personnel. It was a seamless amalgamation of art, culture, and technology, culminating in an awe-inspiring performance by the Highlanders that captivated the audience.

Titled ‘An Epic Odyssey’, the event featured an enthralling fusion of Western and Indian dance and music. The Highlanders delivered exceptional performances, including soulful song renditions, engaging skit presentations, and beautifully synchronized dance sequences.

The School Principal, Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva, extended a heartfelt welcome to the parents and esteemed dignitaries in his address. He also presented the School Annual Report, highlighting the outstanding achievements of the Highlanders in both academic and co-curricular domains. The report underscored the school’s ability to rise above challenges and earn recognition in various fields, reflecting the resilience and excellence demonstrated throughout the year.

The event also featured the release of the annual school magazine, ‘The Highwriter’, which celebrates the creativity and achievements of the Highlanders. Also, staff members who received accolades at the state and national levels were honored, not only to celebrate their achievements but also to inspire and motivate everyone present, adding to the overall spirit of pride and accomplishment at the event.

The Chairman of the school, Dr. Commander Kartikay Saini, addressed the gathering with an inspiring example from the life of Alessandro “Alex” Zanardi, highlighting his remarkable resilience and determination. He emphasized that Zanardi’s story embodies the spirit of Scottish High, stating, “This is the fabric and chromosome of Scottish High.” Dr. Saini commended the Highlanders for their ability to exceed expectations and overcome challenges with grace and perseverance.

The Annual Day culminated on a high note, leaving an enduring sense of joy and accomplishment among all present. The event was a true testament to the school’s ethos of excellence, creativity, and holistic growth, inspiring students to continue striving for success in all aspects of life.

स्कॉटिश हाई इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के हिंदी विभाग द्वारा कक्षा नवीं के विद्यार्थियों के लिए “विज्ञापन प्रस्तुति प्रतियोगिता” का सार्थक और सफल आयोजन किया गया। प्रतियोगिता में स्कॉटिश हाई इंटरनेशनल स्कूल की श्रीमती पूजा शर्मा (IBDP Coordinator) और श्री विकास शर्मा (Performing Arts Facilitator) निर्णायक की भूमिका में हमारे मध्य उपस्थित थे। विद्यार्थियों को स्वयं के किसी उत्पादन के विषय में विज्ञापन बना कर उसे प्रस्तुत करना था।प्रतियोगिता का निर्णय प्रतिभागी के उच्चारण, विषयवस्तु और प्रस्तुतीकरण के आधार पर किया गया। सभी प्रतिभागियों ने पूर्ण आत्मविश्वास के साथ प्रस्तुति दी। प्रतियोगिता में वंश एंडरसन से फागुन बेनीवाल, अर्जुन मुदगल, शौर्य और अगस्त्य भाटिया ने, वंश बॉयड से अनिरुद्ध सिकदर, रेयांश शर्मा , आधृत गौतम और श्लोक खान गाला, वंश लैमोंट से तनिश मोहन, अबीर बसु , गौरिका मुखर्जी और नायशा खुराना तथा वंश मैकआर्थर से कुश यादव, अबीर सिंह, वनद सिंघल और इनायत कौर ने भाग लिया। प्रतियोगिता में वंश मैकआर्थर ने प्रथम स्थान, वंश एंडरसन ने द्वितीय स्थान और वंश बॉयड ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।

On December 3rd, 2024, Scottish High International School hosted an Inter-Clan English Spell Bee Competition for Grade VII. The competition featured spelling, meanings, proverbs, and an object identification round, where participants had to spell the name of an object shown in a picture. It was a neck-and-neck contest, with Clan Lamont securing the highest score, followed by Clan Macarthur, Clan Anderson, and Clan Boyd. It was a memorable occasion, with both students and teachers immersing themselves in the world of vocabulary and proverbs.

दिनांक ३० नवम्बर २०२४ को स्कॉटिश हाई इंटरनेशनल स्कूल में चिन्मयमिशन द्वारा १५वीं अंतर्विद्यालयी भगवद्गीता श्लोकोच्चारण प्रतियोगिता का सार्थक व सफल आयोजन किया गया। इस प्रतियोगिता में बहुत से विद्यालयों से आए लगभग ४०० विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। सभी विद्यार्थियों का प्रदर्शन सराहनीय रहा । हमारे विद्यालय के अद्वय एयर (कक्षा २) ने द्वितीय स्थान तथा विद्युत झा (कक्षा २) ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया। इसके अतिरिक्त आरव रावल (कक्षा ५), आरवी शर्मा (कक्षा ५), अनय शर्मा(कक्षा ५), लॉरा अनिका (कक्षा ७) ने मेधा पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया। हिंदी एवं संस्कृत विभाग

An insightful workshop was held for the students of Grade X, XI, and XII at Scottish High International School by Pratisandhi Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to de-stigmatizing sexuality education.

The session, led by Ms. Anisha Hallan, Mr. Aryaman Singh, Ms.Riya Srivastava and Mr. Ronit Sharma, aimed to educate and empower students on vital subjects of sexual health and well-being.

For Grade X, the session covered “Understanding Consent, Impact of Pornography and Addictions,” addressing topics like consent, the side effects of masturbation and pornography and various forms of addictions such as vaping, gaming, drug and alcohol abuse.

For Grade XI and XII the focus was on “Safe and Unsafe Sexual Behaviour” where topics such as consequences of sexual activity, contraceptives, STI’s, pornography, masturbation and addictions were discussed.

Both sessions were well-received, with students participating in the discussions. The interactive activities such as case studies and anonymous Q&A ensured a comfortable environment for learning as well.

The Inter-Clan Modern Foreign Languages Poetry Recitation Competition for Grade VII was successfully conducted by the Modern Foreign Languages Department on Tuesday, 5th November 2024.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all clans. It provided an engaging platform for them to showcase their linguistic and oratory talents. Participants presented poetry on the topic “My Family” enriched with visually appealing PowerPoint slides that enhanced the overall experience for the audience. The recitations highlighted the students’ impressive command of their respective target languages and their ability to express themselves creatively.

A panel of esteemed language teachers judged the competition. Performances were evaluated based on key criteria, including pronunciation, content of PPT, and overall presentation. After careful deliberation, the judges announced the winners for each language category. The first, second, and third place holders were commended for their outstanding performances, while all participants were applauded for their efforts and enthusiasm. The event was a resounding success, celebrating the students’ linguistic abilities and fostering a deeper appreciation for foreign languages. It left both participants and the audience inspired and eager to take part in future competitions.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Modern Foreign Languages Department conducted an educational visit for the French learners of Grades IX, X IGCSE and XI IBDP, which aimed at broadening their cultural horizons and providing valuable guidance for their future.

The activities included a well-curated guided tour to the library of Alliance Française de Delhi, offering a rich collection of books, periodicals, and multimedia resources.

After the library visit, learners enjoyed the screening of a thought-provoking French movie- ‘Yakari- A
Spectacular Journey, reflecting themes about respect for nature, the power of friendship, and the importance of self-discovery, enhancing learners’ appreciation for world cinema and encouraging discussions on cross-cultural understanding.

An insightful career counselling session was also led by Campus France helping the Highlanders gain knowledge about the emerging career opportunities, the importance of aligning personal interests with career choices, and how to select subjects for their higher studies. The session was complemented by a Q&A, helpful in clarifying their academic and professional aspirations.

Learners also got an opportunity to showcase their French spoken skills by performing role plays and receiving souvenirs in return for their exceptional performances.

This visit not only ignited interest among them in learning a foreign language but also successfully achieved its objectives of enriching their cultural knowledge and equipping them with practical career guidance.

The “Talking Titans” competition for grade VIII took place on 13^th November 2024, showcasing a vibrant  display of talent, knowledge and creativity. The event featured students dressed as renowned historical and  political leaders, embodying the spirit and essence of these influential figures through their speeches and  performances.

Participants chose to embody renowned leaders such as Adolf Hitler, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Sarojini Naidu, and various others who have left a significant impact on history and society, presenting their speeches with a  blend of passion, authenticity, and precision.  

The competition aimed to enhance students’ oratory skills and deepen their appreciation for influential figures in history and politics, while challenging them to engage with powerful rhetoric. 

Students were judged on various criteria, including content accuracy, presentation and confidence. Each  participant displayed impressive dedication, demonstrating a keen understanding of their selected leader’s  words and context, and connecting with the audience in a meaningful way. 

Their performances reflected a strong commitment to embodying both the message and spirit of the  speeches, making the event both educational and inspiring.

On November 14th November, Scottish High International School celebrated Children’s Day with joy, laughter, and a range of exciting activities organized by the teachers. The event aimed to provide a memorable experience filled with entertainment and fun, showcasing the school’s commitment to nurturing happiness and creativity among its students.

The highlight of the celebration was a series of performances by the teachers, who put on a delightful show that included singing, dancing, and various fun-filled activities. The teachers’ dance performance received tremendous applause, as they grooved to popular tunes, spreading an infectious energy that lifted everyone’s spirits.

The teachers walked the runway in colorful, themed outfits. The fashion show added a touch of glamour and humor, as teachers showcased their creativity and enthusiasm through quirky costumes and confident walks. The students cheered enthusiastically for their teachers, who displayed a blend of style and spontaneity, making the show a huge hit.

The event concluded with teachers sharing messages of inspiration, emphasizing the importance of kindness, curiosity, and resilience. The celebration was a reminder of the school’s dedication to fostering a nurturing environment, where students feel appreciated and valued.

सोमवार 11 नवम्बर 2024 को स्कॉटिश हाई इंटरनेशनल विद्यालय में छठी कक्षा के विद्यार्थियों के लिए हिंदी संस्कृत प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया। इसमें छठी कक्षा के छात्रों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। प्रत्येक वंश से दो प्रतिभागी उपस्थित रहे। प्रतियोगिता तीन चरणों में पूर्ण हुई। बच्चों का प्रदर्शन प्रशंसनीय रहा। प्रतियोगिता में लक्ष्य जैन और जपनीत कुमार ने प्रथम स्थान और मानस दधीचि और उमिका बाग ने द्वितीय स्थान और पीहन जैन व प्रगन्य बगड़िया ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।

Indeed , his work is applauded across the world . If we may recall, Forbes magazine had also featured him earlier as the Education Change Maker and so did the Economic Times .

SHIS library week was celebrated from 14th to 18th October 2024. The week-long celebration included a variety of activities like colouring your expressions, book report writing, book mark making, picture
composition, book cover making, reflecting IB learner profile, quiz etc. that aimed at fostering a reading culture among students. Magic show was a resounding success, offering a day of fun, laughter, and wonder for students. It was a joyful and engaging experience for the students.

Storytelling sessions were conducted for children, featuring popular tales and interactive activities to promote literacy.

Students showcased their learning by expressing their thoughts and insights through various activities they were engaged throughout the week.

Library Week was a successful and enriching experience for all students.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Day, students participated in a vibrant week of activities from 14th to 18th
October 2024 which aimed at exploring and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Hispanic countries. The celebration was filled with engaging and educational experiences that fostered a deeper understanding of Spanish traditions.

The varied activities were done in the different classes including Spanish Tambola in which the students participated in this traditional game, which served as a fun way to learn and reinforce Spanish vocabulary. The game encouraged teamwork and friendly competition while highlighting language skills. Students were encouraged to bring interesting facts about various Hispanic countries and share engaging Spanish tongue twisters. This initiative allowed them to showcase their research and public speaking skills, while also contributing to lively class discussions. To enhance the festive atmosphere, students had the option to wear clothing in the colors of the Spanish flag—red and yellow. Many embraced this opportunity, donning T- shirts, caps, and accessories that celebrated their connection to Spanish culture. A quiz covering various aspects of Hispanic culture was conducted, focusing on the Seville Fair, the Day of the Dead, and traditional attire and food. This interactive quiz not only tested knowledge but also sparked discussions about the significance of these celebrations. The different classes explored the significance of this celebration, discussing traditional offerings (ofrendas), the use of vibrant colors, and the unique foods associated with honoring deceased loved ones.

The week culminated in a deeper appreciation for Hispanic heritage, fostering curiosity and respect for diverse cultures. The enthusiasm of the students was evident throughout the activities, making this celebration a memorable educational experience.

दिनांक 23 अक्तूबर, 2024 बुधवार को स्कॉटिश हाई इंटरनेशनल विद्यालय के प्राँगण में अंतर्वंशीय हिंदी मोनोलॉग (स्वगत भाषण ) प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया। जिसमें कक्षा आठवीं के बच्चों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। सभी प्रतिभागी अपने चुने गए पात्रों की वेशभूषा में मंच पर उपस्थित हुए। प्रतिभागियों ने अपने चुने हुए पात्रों के अनुसार ही संवाद बोले और अभिनय किया। प्रतिभागियों की प्रस्तुतियों की सभी ने भूरी भूरी प्रशंसा की। मंच पर प्रतिभागियों और दर्शकों का उत्साह दर्शनीय था।प्रतियोगिता में निर्णायकों की भूमिका में श्रीमती संगीता भल्ला और श्रीमती विनय सचदेवा जी उपस्थित रहीं। प्रतियोगिता में तमिश अंतिल ने प्रथम स्थान , समिद्ध भाटिया ने द्वितीय स्थान और स्वास्तिक कंवल गर्ग ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।

Scottish High students recently had an unforgettable experience as they dove into the world of Scuba diving, guided by experts- Ms. Archana Sardana and Captain Sanjay K. VSM (Retd.).

The session kicked off with Ms. Sardana introducing the basics of scuba gear and diving techniques to the students. Her enthusiasm was contagious as she explained how to breathe underwater and maneuver with the equipment.

Captain Sanjay K. brought a wealth of knowledge about diving safety and shared important protocols/dos and don’ts to ensure everyone had a secure and enjoyable experience. His insights into the beauty of marine ecosystems sparked curiosity and excitement among the students.

Throughout the session, the students learned not only about the technical aspects of diving but also the significance of marine conservation. The opportunity to explore the underwater world left them inspired and eager to learn more.

प्रतियोगिता से दस दिन पूर्व ही दे दिया गया था। प्रतियोगिता का निर्णय प्रतिभागी के उच्चारण, विषयवस्तु और प्रस्तुतीकरण के आधार पर किया गया। प्रतियोगिता मे विद्यार्थियों का प्रदर्शन प्रशंसनीय था। सभी प्रतिभागियों ने पूर्ण आत्मविश्वास के साथ प्रस्तुति दी तथा अपने विचारो को आत्मविश्वास के साथ प्रस्तुत किया। प्रतियोगिता में वंश एंडरसन से ताशवी मोहता और अवनि द्विवेदी ने, वंश बॉयड से अनमता अख़्तर और सुहानी आचर्य ने, वंश लैमोंट से आरव गुप्ता और सानवी खन्ना तथा वंश मैकआर्थर से अनाया डोगरा और उज्जेशा श्रीवास्तव ने भाग लिया। प्रतियोगिता में वंश एंडरसन की ताशवी मोहता और अवनि द्विवेदी

Sex and Health Education Workshop

For Grade VIII, the focus was on “Understanding Menstruation and Reproductive Health,” where students were educated on topics such as anatomy, menstrual cycle and hygiene, pregnancy and sexual reproductive health. For Grade IX, the session covered “Understanding Consent, Values, and the Impact of Pornography,” addressing topics like consent, online safety, and the side effects of masturbation and pornography. Both sessions were well-received, with students participating in the discussions. The interactive activities and anonymous Q&A ensured a comfortable environment for learning as well

The Inter-Clan Poem Recitation Competition for Grade 8 students was organized by the MFL department, in the MPH on 9^th October, 2024. Students competed in their respective languages: French, German and Spanish. Participants showcased their recitation skills with great enthusiasm. The primary objective of this competition was to enhance the speaking abilities of the students. Reciting poems requires not only a good command of language but also the skill to convey emotions effectively. Through this competition, students had the opportunity to refine their articulation and pronunciation, which will undoubtedly benefit them in their future academic pursuits and personal lives. This competition helped them in developing self-confidence, communication and public speaking skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Our school celebrated German Unity Day in the first week of October with great enthusiasm. The event commemorated the reunification of Germany on October 3rd, 1990, and was marked by creative activities, presentations, and cultural highlights, making it both educational and enjoyable.

The celebration began with an introduction to the significance of the day, emphasizing the historical importance of Germany’s reunification and its global impact. Students across grades participated in a variety of hands-on activities, including bookmark, poster, and card making, all of which reflected German cultural symbols, landmarks, and history. Many designs incorporated the black, red, and gold colours of the German flag.

Students also watched a selection of German movies and songs, offering them a fun and immersive experience of the country’s language and culture. In addition, they prepared presentations on interesting facts about Germany, covering topics such as German inventions, cuisine, and famous landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate.

As part of the cultural immersion, students enjoyed a fun session attempting German tongue twisters. To enhance the festive atmosphere, primary students dressed in the colours of the German flag—black, red, and gold. The vibrant display of these colours added a sense of unity and respect for the theme, making the celebration both visually striking and meaningful.

The celebration promoted international mindedness, helping students appreciate Germany’s rich heritage while expanding their global awareness. Overall, it was a day filled with learning, creativity, and cultural appreciation, leaving everyone with a deeper understanding of the importance of unity and diversity.

The Highlanders’ Front Desk Programme Shines

Grade III and IV students stole the show with their outstanding Approaches to Learning skills, demonstrating exceptional communication and social interaction expertise. The vibrant programme featured a rich tapestry of music, dance, and drama acts, electrifying the audience with high-energy performances and non-stop entertainment. The young Highlanders’ impressive skills left the parents in awe, making for an unforgettable celebratory experience! evening.

Once again, Highlanders united to kindle the spirit of festivity as Scottish High celebrated Dussehra. Soulful Bhajans filled the air as the Highlanders, adorned in traditional attire, gathered to light the effigy of ‘Ravana’. The school premises brimmed with excitement and joy as Highlanders fervently observed the joyous occasion of Vijayadashami, presenting a beautiful visual treat for all!

स्कॉटिश हाई इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के हिंदी विभाग द्वारा कक्षा नवीं और दसवीं के विद्यार्थियों के लिए 7 अक्टूबर 2024 को “ हिंदी संस्कृत प्रश्नावली” का सार्थक और सफल आयोजन किया गया। विद्यार्थियों  को संस्कृत विषय सम्बंधित  लिखित सामग्री प्रतियोगिता से 10 दिन पूर्व उपलब्ध कराई गई थी। प्रतियोगिता का मुख्य विषय व्याकरण था। प्रतियोगिता चार चरणों में विभक्त थी। प्रथम और तृतीय चरण हिंदी विषय और द्वितीय चरण संस्कृत पर आधारित था। प्रतियोगिता का अंतिम चरण फटाफट था जिसमें प्रत्येक वंश के प्रतिभागियों से 1 मिनट में 10 प्रश्न पूछे गए थे। प्रतियोगिता के अधिकांश प्रश्नों के सही उत्तर देते हुए प्रतिभागियों ने अपने हिंदी ज्ञान का उत्तम प्रदर्शन किया। प्रतियोगिता में वंश  एंडरसन से प्रिशा पृथु और जीनिया दत्ता ने, वंश बॉयड  से आंजनेय कौल और जयकृत बिजलानी  ने, वंश लैमोंट  से अबीर बासु और दिव्यांश आनंद  ने तथा वंश मैकआर्थर से अरमिन कौर और आन्या निगम ने भाग लिया। प्रतियोगिता में वंश मैकआर्थर, वंश बॉयड और वंश लैमॉन्ट ने क्रमशः प्रथम, द्वितीय और तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।

स्कॉटिश हाई इंटरनेशनल स्कूल के हिंदी विभाग द्वारा कक्षा ग्यारहवीं और बारहवीं के विद्यार्थियों के लिए 4 अक्टूबर  2024 को “हिंदी मोनोलॉग प्रतियोगिता” का सार्थक और सफल आयोजन किया गया। प्रतियोगिता में श्रीमती विनीता गुप्ता और डॉ वर्षा सोलंकी ने निर्णायक की भूमिका निभायी। प्रतिभागियों को किसी साहित्यिक कृति के एक पात्र के संवाद को प्रस्तुत करना था, पात्र के अनुसार वह वेशभूषा भी धारण कर सकते थे। प्रतियोगिता का निर्णय प्रतिभागी के उच्चारण, प्रस्तुतीकरण और विषयवस्तु के आधार पर किया गया। प्रतियोगिता मे विद्यार्थियों का प्रदर्शन प्रशंसनीय था। सभी प्रतिभागियों ने पूर्ण आत्मविश्वास के साथ प्रस्तुति दी तथा उनकी अभिनय प्रतिभा ने निर्णायक और दर्शकों को प्रभावित किया। प्रतियोगिता में वंश एंडरसन से स्निग्धा सक्सेना और हृदयांशी सिंह ने, वंश बॉयड  से जितिन टिकू और अनदया वर्मा ने, वंश लैमोंट  से अंगद जोशी और अवीर  सिंह ने तथा वंश मैकआर्थर से वैष्णवी विनोद शर्मा  और सबीर भाटिया ने भाग लिया। प्रतियोगिता में वंश मैकआर्थर से वैष्णवी विनोद शर्मा ने, वंश एंडरसन से स्निग्धा सक्सेना ने और वंश बॉयड  से ज़ितिन टिकू ने क्रमशः  प्रथम, द्वितीय और तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।

Scottish High International School was awarded the Best Indian School for Innovative Leadership at the Maharashtra Educators Summit on 04 Oct 2024 at Mumbai. Dr Cdr Kartikay Saini also received the Education Leader of the year award.

The Annual Social Science Exhibition, “Legacy of Bravery: A Tribute to the Unsung Heroes of our Nation,” was held on September 28, 2024. The exhibition, presented by our talented Highlanders (Grades VI-XII), was to shed light on the extraordinary contributions of the unsung individuals who have greatly contributed to our Nation.
Students showcased models, charts, posters, cutouts, quizzes, games, and knowledge about unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle. The exhibition included depictions of the National War Memorial, historical events such as the Uprising of 1857, the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, and recipients of the Param Vir Chakra. Students dressed up as leaders, presented a patriotic dance, and sang the melodious song- “Ae Watan, mere watan.” The students’ and teachers collaborative effort and hard work were evident, resulting in an impressive display that captivated the parents.

Ranveer Singh Saini does it again !!!

Competing against the best teams of the world- Ranveer Singh Saini won the Silver medal for India at the Golf Masters tournament held in Macau this week.

This is Ranveers 8th medal at the Golf Masters in Macau.

Teams from USA, Korea , Thailand, Australia, Costa Rica, UK, Sweden, Finland, Zimbabwe, South Africa and many more competed in this competition .

Ranveer recently won a Gold medal for India at the World Games in Berlin 2023, being his 3rd consecutive World Games medal for the country.

University Fair: An IC3 Collaboration

On 27th August 2024, Scottish High proudly hosted the Student and Parent Career Fair. The fair was a great opportunity for our students from Classes IX to XII, along with their parents and teachers, to explore higher education options.

Over 60 representatives from prestigious universities, including University of Sydney, University of Hong Kong, University of Calgary, Ontario Tech University, Northwestern Qatar, Trinity College Dublin, University of Edinburgh and more from across the globe participated in the fair.

Students had the opportunity to explore best-fit universities that aligned with their aspirations, gaining valuable insights into scholarship options, eligibility criteria, and application processes. The direct interaction with university representatives provided first-hand information, making the experience highly informative and impactful.

The event was a resounding success, leaving our students better informed and more confident about their academic futures.

An insightful session was held for the teachers of Scottish High on Safeguarding Classrooms
conducted by Pratisandhi Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to de-stigmatizing
sexuality education and raising awareness to help teachers make informed decisions while
nurturing student behaviour.

The session, led by Ms Anisha Hallan, an experienced sexuality educator, and Dr. Kaavya Sreedhar a gynaecologist, with extensive experience in both medical practice and sexuality
education focused on equipping teachers with the tools and knowledge to create safe and
inclusive classrooms, free from stereotypes and biases.

Teachers gained an understanding of the harmful effects of gender stereotyping, which can lead
to emotional distress and mental health issues in students and were encouraged to reflect on
their own biases and avoid making assumptions that could reinforce stereotypes. Additionally,
they were taught to carefully assess classroom situations before taking action, ensuring a
supportive and inclusive environment for all students.

The workshop was a success, with all teachers actively participating and leaving with practical
tools to safeguard their classrooms.

On Sept 6, Dr. Neha Singh Maurya, HOD Counseling led a great session on writing effective
Letters of Recommendation and predicting grades. She stressed the importance of being
honest and accurate, and provided tips on structuring the letters, proofreading them, and
making sure predicted grades truly reflect students’ abilities. A helpful guide to support our
students’ college applications!

Scottish High Celebrates Teachers’ Day 2024 with Joy and Gratitude

The atmosphere at Scottish High was filled with inspiration, love, and admiration as Highlanders came together to celebrate Teachers’ Day. From the youngest students to the seniors, the event unfolded like a vibrant carnival, brimming with fun, excitement, and heartfelt appreciation. Students put on a magnificent display of talent, featuring captivating dances, fun-filled games, stirring speeches, and colorful performances, all in honor of their teachers. Every act reflected the deep respect and affection the students hold for their mentors, making it a day of celebration and gratitude.

Group 3 teachers facilitated an engaging Interdisciplinary activity where students tackled the complex topic of Market Failure on 21st August 2024. By analyzing a newspaper article and collaborating in groups, students linked the concept to Psychology, Economics, Business Management, and ESS, gaining a rich, multi-perspective understanding through critical thinking skills.

The activity was a resounding success, showcasing the power of integrated learning. The Highlanders look forward to exploring transdisciplinary opportunities, enhancing their educational journey.

The Modern Foreign Languages Department organized a vibrant Inter-Clan Spell Bee competition in French, German, and Spanish on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. The event was designed to foster a love for languages, encourage multilingualism, and broaden the cultural horizons of our learners. Participants were Grade 7 learners, each studying one of the three languages. They approached the competition with enthusiasm and a strong desire to showcase their linguistic skills. The competition offered them an opportunity to expand their vocabulary in areas such as salutations, everyday objects, animals, numbers, and more. Learners worked on perfecting their pronunciation and spelling in their chosen language.

The Spell Bee competition was structured into three rounds: Translation Round in which participants translated words from the target language into English, Reverse Translation Round in which participants translated words from English into the target language and Picture Identification Round in which participants identified images and named them in the target language.

The selection of words presented a varying degree of difficulty, challenging learners to push their limits. The atmosphere was electric as learners eagerly competed, demonstrating their growing proficiency in their chosen language.

The competition concluded with the results being announced by one of the judges. The event was not only a test of language skills but also an opportunity for learners to become more open-minded, internationally aware, and to develop a growth mindset.

Overall, the Spell Bee was a resounding success, celebrating linguistic diversity and promoting cross-cultural understanding in an engaging and interactive way. The event was a testament to the power of language learning in opening up new horizons and fostering global citizenship among our learners.

Scottish High International School in collaboration with Klip VR provided the Highlanders with a memorable experience as they embarked on a virtual underwater adventure and explored mysteries of the ocean. Combine the cutting-edge technology with education, offering the students innovative ways to learn and grow.

Students were transported to the depths of the ocean, where they encountered vibrant marine life, including majestic turtles and awe-inspiring whales. This immersive learning experience sparked curiosity and inspired discussions about environmental stewardship. Using VR controllers, students engaged with the underwater environment in real time. They could explore coral reefs, follow schools of fish making the experience both fun and educational.

The event not only enriched their knowledge but also fostered a deeper appreciation for the beauty and fragility of our planet’s oceans.

आज दिनांक 14 अगस्त, 2024 बुधवार को स्कॉटिश हाई इंटरनेशनल विद्यालय के प्रांगण में आठवीं कक्षा के विद्यार्थियों के लिए हिंदी संस्कृत प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया।  इसमें कक्षा आठवीं के छात्रों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया।  प्रतिभागियों के रूप में प्रत्येक दल से दो प्रतिभागी एक दल के रूप में उपस्थित रहे।  प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता को चार चरणों में पूरा किया गया।  जिसमे हिंदी व् संस्कृत विषयों से संबंधित प्रश्न पूछे गए।  मंच व दर्शक दीर्घा में बैठे छात्रों का उत्साह देखने योग्य था।  प्रतियोगिता में रुहिका सेठ व अक्षर विजय ने प्रथम स्थान,  समिध भाटिया व शौर्य सिंघल ने द्वितीय स्थान और अविका कालरा  व  रुमन नरूला ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया।

The delegation’s visit was focused on gaining insights into the educational practices and methodologies employed at SHIS. The delegation participated in discussions aimed at understanding and sharing best practices in education.
The interactions were enriching, paving the way for potential future collaborations between the two institutions.

The event was a powerful demonstration of collective efforts to raise awareness and support for individuals with autism.
Students, teachers, and staff worked together to showcase the importance of inclusion through various inspiring performances. From a heartwarming video highlighting Scottish High’s inclusive environment to a motivational speech by School Chairman Dr. Cdr Kartikay Saini and Deputy Chairperson Ms Bakhtawar Saini, the event was filled with moments that celebrated the true essence of inclusion.
The major highlight of the event was the incredible performances by the special education needs students, who showcased their talents through group songs, dances, solo performances, unique skills, and abilities. Their heartfelt musical performance and talk show truly illustrated the power of inclusion and left a lasting impact on all attendees.
In addition, national and international guest athletes executed an inspiring skip rope routine, displaying their carefully choreographed moves and perfect synchronicity, leaving the audience in awe.
A spectacular show by team Scottish High, and a significant step towards the great cause. It will surely serve as a source of inspiration to all and help mobilize the community to join forces and propel the inclusion movement forward.

“A new Language is a new Life.”

Tongue Twister Competition in Scottish High International School –

To inculcate the love for a language that opens up new horizons and celebrate multilingualism, Modern Foreign Languages Department conducted Inter Clan Tongue Twister competition in French, German and Spanish language on Monday, July 29, 2024 with flair and fervency. The Highlanders of Grade 6 learning French, German, and Spanish participated with full zeal. They thoroughly enjoyed learning and performing tongue twisters, its pronunciation, and learnt how to spell the words. All the students performed exceptionally well in their respective rounds of the competition. The competition comprised of two rounds:
– Speak the tongue twister in the target language for five times
– They were provided with a tongue twister and were given 5 mins time to understand & prepare it.

They were asked to say it for as many times as they can say in 20 seconds
The competition gave an opportunity to all the learners to become open-minded, cultivate international mindedness and growth mindset in them. These kinds of competitions boost the confidence of our students and give them a good exposure.
Indeed; it was an extravaganza to promote linguistic diversity and cross-cultural knowledge amongst learners in an interesting manner.

Joining the fleet of Primary and Senior Students, Little Highlanders (Initials Wing) came on board the new academic session (2024-25) amidst the backdrop of a warm, vibrant culture at Scottish High.

Ensuring a grand welcome for the little ones and their parents, with the ceremonial Bagpiper band, sparkling set up at the entrance, and the cheerful reception by the team of teachers and staff, the Initials Wing turned the first day of the new session into a colourful curtain raiser of the year ahead!

Swinging into action, the Highlanders (Grade I to XII) led a flying start to the new academic session (2024-25). As the Scottish High tradition goes, with the ceremonial bagpiper band, warm greetings by the School Chairman, the School Principal, the Primary School Director, teachers, and staff, the Highlanders were escorted to an eventful day or to say an exciting and action-packed academic year ahead!

Happy, smiling faces, bustling corridors, and classrooms, the new academic session gets cracking!

Once again, the entire Scottish High community gathered together for the most awaited day-School Chairman, Dr Cdr Kartikay Saini’s Birthday!

Right from the main entrance, the School was lit up with decorations, smiles, sounds of greetings, best wishes card and with scores of Highlanders waiting to meet their leader. More like a fan following, the students were highly excited for the big day as they put up a multicolored presentation of dance, music, short speeches, and so much more.

Depicting their love, respect and admiration for their leader, the Initials, Primary and Senior Students, in unison, celebrated the day through their unique expressions. The display of picturesque cards and posters with heartwarming messages said it all!

Well, how could our teachers and admin staff be left behind! It was their turn to celebrate and express their sentiments for their mentor, which they aptly did through a treat of breathtaking stage performances and a small snack party in the evening!

PYP Exhibition 2023-24: Our Grade V students made waves with their incredible and innovative work during the PYP exhibition. Their research compilations not only showcased the academic skills and knowledge acquired by them but also their ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and take action as responsible global citizens.

The detailed PYP wall, creative slogans, and dialogues demonstrated the students’ creative writing skills.

My daughter Khyati’s enthusiasm and sense of responsibility were palpable. This exhibition wasn’t just about the final day; it was about weeks of collaborative effort.

As parents, we appreciate the holistic learning experience provided by the school.

We wish to create a difference in the world so to make a better place for everyone but gradually that thought fades away in handling the complexities of our life. This PYPX platform is definitely an awaking call for us. 

This embarking journey of PYP with SHIS was so insightful and full of new learnings. 

Our children learned the various SDG’S in such an interesting and meaningful way. Their application in our daily life seems so possible when our children express in their way learnt through you. 

The whole concept of PYP not only encourages children to learn new things but how to express themselves seamlessly.  The way the whole exhibit was displayed and organised was commendable. Those glittering eyes of children filled with confidence while performing took us to another world. The sense of independence is great but with responsibility is experiential memories, these children developing their own lyrics, scripts, choreography and so on have created such memories which they will cherish forever. The guidance and learnings which they seek from you was reflected by them flawlessly.  

Words are few to express how amazing was the experience of PYPX but would really wish to thank SHIS and you for building such programme and incorporating it in our children so well that our  future will be definitely be remarkable.

Our Highlanders emerged as true champions in Under 15 boys and secured First position in Maharaja Hari Singh Memorial Football Tournament 3.0, hosted at DPS Sushant lok.

The team achieved the position battling with 28 teams across Delhi-NCR.

Alumni Meet 2023: Scottish High International School celebrated its highly anticipated Alumni Meet on the evening of December 29, 2023, bringing together former students for a memorable and emotional reunion. The atmosphere was infused with nostalgia as attendees reminisced about their cherished school days, reconnecting with old friends and beloved teachers.
